The January transfer market is now officially open, with clubs across Europe looking to get deals over the line to enhance their squads for the second half of the season. Teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets to sign or loan.

Tottenham have reportedly agreed a fee in the region of €60 million for Mathys Tel. The Bayern Munich starlet has made it clear that he wants to leave the Bundesliga club with several English clubs interested. Another Bundesliga star attracting attention is Gregor Kobel with Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly monitoring the Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper ahead of a summer move.

Arsenal had a bid rejected for  Ollie Watkins but they will reportedly return with an improved bid. The Gunners made an offer around €70 million for the Aston Villa striker, who scored as they beat Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday night. But Villa are very reluctant to sell Watkins with  Jhon Duran on the verge of moving to Saudi Arabia.

Barcelona and Manchester United are locked in talks over a loan deal for Marcus Rashford, according to the Telegraph. Ruben Amorim has repeatedly criticised the England international and left him out of his United squad. Despite talks, United reportedly believe that it will prove difficult to complete a deal before Monday’s deadline.

Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr are weighing up a €90m offer for Karou Mitoma after an initial €60m bid was rejected from Brighton. Meanwhile, Aston Villa are weighing up a move for PSG winger Marco Asensio with the Spaniard surplus to requirements at PSG.
