It’s been a brilliant year of football and some players have really stood out across 2024. A plethora of young players have emerged as generational talents, while some experienced stars have cemented their reputation as the best players in the world.

Lamine Yamal truly emerged as one of the best players in the world with his Barcelona excellence backed up by leading Spain to glory at 2024. We’ve analysed Transfermarkt’s famed market value data to see which players enjoyed the biggest valuation upgrades across the calendar year – from the top five leagues – and Yamal ranks first. As the graphic below illustrates, Yamal’s market value soared by €120 million across 2024 from €60m to €180m and he’s currently the most valuable teenager in history.

 Cole Palmer’s move from Manchester City to Chelsea left Pep Guardiola regretting his decision and the England international ranks second with his valuation increasing by €85m in 2024. The top five places are all held by LaLiga or Premier League stars- Pau Cubarsí, Vinicius Jr and Kobbie Mainoo. Two Bundesliga stars feature in the top ten in Omar Marmoush and Florian Wirtz, while Kenan Yildiz is the only player from Serie A.
