The January transfer market is now officially open, with clubs across Europe looking to get deals over the line to enhance their squads for the second half of the season. Teams are already working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets to sign or loan.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals in the market. Wolves forward Matheus Cunha remains one of the hottest topics in the January transfer window, due to the Premier League talisman’s impressice goal haul this season. The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks, but the Daily Mail are now suggesting that Nottingham Forest may be preparing an audacious bid for the player as they look to secure an impressive top four finish in the league at the end of the season.

Despite Southampton’s inability to compete in the Premier League this season, one star player in their squad seems certain to remain a fixture of the English top-flight after the summer. Young winger Tyler Dibling has attracted interest from a number of big clubs in the league, such as Newcastle and Tottenham, but according to Sky Sports Germany Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig are now considering a bid for the player in January.

Manchester United are unlikely to make too many signings this month, but could greenlight the departure of a somewhat notoriously figure in their squad. Antony remains a stalwart figurehead of the previous manager’s failed tenure at Old Trafford and has been desperately attempting to leave the club by whatever means possible. According to Fabrizio Romano, the player and his current employers may have their wishes granted, with Antony now set to depart the club to join LaLiga side Betis for the remainder of the season.
