There’s little doubt that 2024 introduced a number of outstanding young players to the world of football and few top flights can lay claim to as many exciting talents as the Premier League. Not only is the English league the most valuable in the world, but it also harbours some of the stars of tomorrow. At Transfermarkt we like to keep tabs on every young player in the game today and using our market values we can define which ones are rising at a higher rate than all others in their age range. So before we dive straight into 2025, let’s take a look back at which players aged 21 or younger gained the most market value over the course of 2024 in the Premier League.
This graphic above highlights the top ten under-21 players in the Premier League who have enjoyed the largest market value increases in 2024. At the top of the list is Kobbie Mainoo of Manchester United, whose market value surged by €49 million to reach €55m. Close behind is his teammate Lenny Yoro, who saw his value climb by €30m, also hitting €55m. Manchester City new signing Savinho, another standout performer, has similarly seen his value increase by €25m, matching the €55m mark. Other notable mentions include Ethan Nwaneri of Arsenal, whose value rose by €24m to €30m due to him breaking into Mikel Arteta’s squad, and Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace, who gained €22m, pushing his market value to €32m.
Another impressive young player that introduced himself to the Premier League this season was Southampton winger Tyler Dibling, who also enjoyed a €22m jump, reaching a value of €22m. Alejandro Garnacho of Man Utd increased by €20m, now valued at €50m, while Yankuba Minteh of Brighton shares the same €20m increase, reaching €28m in market value. Rounding off the top 10 are Jack Hinshelwood of Brighton, whose market value rose by €17m to €24m, and Brajan Gruda, who saw an increase of €16m to reach €25m.
