Arsenal and Manchester United remain one of the biggest rivalries in England given the history and achievements of both clubs. For almost a decade, Arsenal and Manchester United battled for the Premier League title under the tenures of legendary managers Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger.
There’s been some iconic games between the two English giants and some memorable goals, including title deciders.
Neither club has won the league title for over a decade with United currently languishing in the bottom half of the table and Arsenal without silverware in over four years. All eyes will be on the Emirates on Sunday afternoon when these sides meet in the FA Cup and we’ve put together the most valuable XI in history from Arsenal and Man United players – based on Transfermarkt’s renowned market values.
The most valuable player in the history of Arsenal and Man United is Bukayo Saka at his current valuation of €150m. The England international takes the right-wing spot in this team with Jadon Sancho on the left and Romelu Lukaku leading the line. Sancho’s record market value at Borussia Dortmund was €130m but it stood at €90m at United.
As the graphic above illustrates, two current Arsenal midfielders make the historical XI in Martin Ødegaard and Declan Rice. Current players generally have higher valuations due to inflation and market value trends but Paul Pogba is included as he was valued at €100m during his second spell at Old Trafford. The back four comprises current Arsenal defenders with William Saliba leading the way at €80m with David de Gea comfortably the most valuable goalkeeper to play for either side.
