The transfer market remains closed until January but clubs are still extremely busy behind the scenes as they plan for future arrivals. There’s now just a few days until the winter window opens and clubs are already working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets to sign or loan.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals in the upcoming market. A plethora of players will be unhappy with their lack of minutes with their agents aiming to secure them a move to ensure first-team football for the second half of the season. The rumour mill is beginning to pick up pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories.
Reports suggest Liverpool are considering an approach approach for Brighton and Brazil forward João Pedro, but a move is likely to have to wait until the summer as the Seagulls’ demands for the 23-year-old will make a January move difficult.
According to reports, PSG are willing to pay €100 million to sign Newcastle United’s in-form Sweden striker Alexander Isak, who scored a hat-trick against Ipswich this weekend.
Newcastle are reportedly one of the clubs interested in Barcelona’s Eric García, 23, but the former Manchester City defender wants to stay at the Nou Camp and fight for a first-team place.
