The transfer market remains closed until January but clubs are still extremely busy behind the scenes as they plan for future arrivals. There’s now just a few days until the winter window opens and clubs are already working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets to sign or loan.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals in the upcoming market. A plethora of players will be unhappy with their lack of minutes with their agents aiming to secure them a move to ensure first-team football for the second half of the season. According to reports in England, Arsenal remain seriously interested in signing Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia in the coming transfer window. The North London club are in desperate need of a dependable No.2 in Mikel Arteta’s squad, but are reportedly unwilling to match the release clause that would need to be triggered to sign Garcia, which stands at £25 million (€30m).

Chelsea are reportedly looking to add even more firepower to their squad in January and, according to reports in France, are preparing a bid for Paris Saint-Germain’s out-of-favour forward Randal Kolo Muani. The 26-year-old striker has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in January, with Manchester United apparently looking to sign the France international as soon as possible. But may now face stiff opposition from their domestic rivals.
