The new Premier League season is upon us and as such Transfermarkt is delighted to introduce the new Predictor Game for the upcoming league campaign. Private leagues can be set up with friends for each of Europe’s top divisions and users can even sign up the official Transfermarkt league to compete with our own Premier League experts for the chance of winning a football top of your choosing. Click on the graphic below to sign up and make your picks ahead of this weekend’s action. 

Ahead of each matchday users will be tasked with making predictions for each game in the Premier League. If you get the result spot on, you are awarded 10 points. If you get the result and goal difference between the two teams correct, you will be awarded with seven points. And if you fail to get the exact result or goal difference right but still manage to pick the correct winner then you still get awarded with five points. And, if that wasn’t generous enough, you also get one point for predicting the correct number of goals for each team.

For example, in the opening game of the new Premier League season, champions Manchester City will travel to London to face Chelsea. Let’s assume you bet on an away win and believe the match will end 2-1 in favour of the defending champions. If that result comes to fruition, you will be awarded 10 points. If the game finishes 1-0, 3-2 or 4-3 to Man City, you will be awarded seven points because you correctly predicted the score and that Pep Guardiola’s team would win by one goal. If Man City were to win 3-0, 4-2 or 5-3, you would get five points for the correct result but not the correct goal difference. And if Chelsea were to win 1-0 you would still get one point for correctly predicting how many goals they would score.
