Transfermarkt has updated the market values of the Colombian Liga Dimayor. The update includes former European stars like Radamel Falcao and Adrián Ramos, who are spending the twilight of their careers in the Colombian first division. Both are part of a group of players with market value downgrades.
Falcao, who won the Europa League with Porto and Atlético Madrid and generated over €103m in transfer fees, joined Colombian giants Millonarios FC in July 2024. After scoring just once in six games, his market value was reduced from €800,000 to €400,000. The biggest downgrade, however, experienced David Ospina. The Atlético Nacional goalkeeper arrived from Saudi club Al-Nassr. The market value of the former Arsenal goalkeeper dropped by €1.2m to €800,000.
The player with the biggest upgrade is Nicolás Rodríguez from Fortaleza CEIF. The midfielder has been directly involved in four goals across 11 games, increasing his market value from €650,000 to €1.2m. After breaking into the first team, Ospina’s teammate Kilian Toscano received his first-ever market of €600,000.
Former Rangers star Alfredo Morelos remains the most valuable player in the league. The 28-year-old wore the Rangers’ jersey for six seasons and increased his market value to €15m in 2020 before moving on to Brazilian side Santos in the summer of 2023. After Santos’ relegation, Morales was loaned to Atlético Nacional until the end of the season, and, as a result, his market value dropped from €4m to €3.2m.
How Transfermarkt market values work
The Transfermarkt market values are calculated, taking into account various pricing models. A major factor is the Transfermarkt community, whose members discuss and evaluate player market values in detail. In general, the Transfermarkt market values are not to be equated with transfer fees.
The goal is not to predict a price but an expected value of a player in a free market. Both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant in determining market values. Examples of this are listed below. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (you can find the detailed market value definition here).
