The transfer market remains closed until January but clubs are still extremely busy behind the scenes as they plan for future arrivals. Players all around the world have returned to their clubs after the international break for a pivotal period of the season, both domestically and in European competition.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals in the upcoming market. A plethora of players will be unhappy with their lack of minutes with their agents aiming to secure them a move to ensure first-team football for the second half of the season. The rumour mill is beginning to pick up pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories.
Real Madrid have made contact with Portugal full-back Diogo Dalot, and have been told Manchester United would demand around €50m. However, Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold remains the Spanish champions’ priority.
Manchester City are among a number of clubs interested in Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton as they look to sign a back-up to Rodri, but the Eagles are determined to keep the 20-year-old England international until at least the summer
Manchester United are stepping up their interest in signing RB Leipzig left-back David Raum, according to reports in Germany. It’s understood that Ruben Amorim has targeted the left side of his defence as a key area to strengthen following the recent long-term injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
Reports suggest a number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea are monitoring Borussia Dortmund’s 20-year-old England Under-21 forward Jamie Gittens, who scored against Bayern Munich on Saturday.
Manchester United, Tottenham, and Barcelona reportedly sent scouts to watch 25-year-old Egypt striker Omar Marmoush play for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday. Marmoush already has 11 goals this season.
